What is PILF?
Now in its eighth year (2019), PILF was mainly conceived and brought to life and sustained for all these years, by its founder director Dr. Manjiri Prabhu who herself is an author of 15 English novels to date.
PILF is a festival with a difference, which celebrates the written word in all forms and media. Over the last seven years more than 700 eminent authors, speakers and creative personalities from different fields, have played an important part in raising the bar of the festival.
Some of the speakers over the years have been : Sudha Murthy, Shashi Tharoor, Narayana Murthy, Kiran Nagarkar, Maneka Gandhi, Jerry Pinto, Daniel Hahn, Dr. Roman Gerodimos, Amish Tripathi, Ashwin Sanghi, Shatrughan Sinha, Prasoon Joshi, Anupam Kher, Shobhaa De, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Ashok Chopra, Rakeysh OmPrakash Mehra, Mansoor Khan, Bharat Dabholkar, Neil Hollander, Nancy Silberkleit (CEO Archie Comics), Helen Smith, Boyd Tonkin (Chair of Man Booker Prize), Alison Joseph, Asha Parekh, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and many more.
